A lot goes into making not only an elite athlete, but an athlete who is happy and has a healthy life balance - more than people realise. These costs can add up and negatively affect an athlete’s wellbeing. If you’re gonna try and get the best for yourself anyway, you may as well save money whilst you do it!

The variety of discounts looks amazing. From a distance runner perspective, I think the key areas of spending are kit, watches, and supplements. The top brands for kit are definitely present (Adidas & New Balance etc.) and a lot of distance athletes use Garmin which is there too... there is such a vast variety of discounts that you’re going to find what you need on there somewhere.

For someone like myself with no sponsors, trying to fund an athletics career along with managing a cost of living crisis, this is a great tool. I wish there was something like this when I started out! My parents couldn't afford to get me all the stuff I needed when I was younger. From the perspective of a young person, this is going to be a great help. Most young people aren't in full-time jobs and have to live off student loans. This will help to keep people in their sport and bridge the gap to those who are in more of a fortunate position!
